EuroCloud Europe & Awards 2014: just a few days away

Luxembourg, 11.09.2014 – More than 50 winners of the national EuroCloud Awards from 12 countries have presented themselves to the European jury, in order to be selected as the best cloud company in Europe. The jury has now chosen the best of the best and has announced the nominees for the EuroCloud Europe Award 2014. The winners will be announced on the evening of September 30th, as part of the EuroCloud Congress in at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. The Congress, on September 30th and October 1st, will gather the entire European Cloud ecosystem with the aim to share and present the latest technical and regulatory developments relevant for Europe’s Cloud industry (www.eurocloudcongress.org).

Like last year, companies from 12 countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Romania, Turkey, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Portugal, have taken the opportunity to have their cloud solutions judged in a European competition. Every participating country was able to include a representative on the jury (www.eurocloudcongress.org/2014/jury/), which includes university professors, government representatives, researchers and financial auditors. “This year again, the jury was composed of distinguished cloud specialists. The quality standards and performance of the cloud solutions and applications presented to them were impressive. It is truly a testimonial of Europe’s expertise and innovation in the cloud computing field”, comments Bernd Becker, President of EuroCloud Europe.

The EuroCloud Europe Awards will be awarded for the fourth time this year and the congress will essentially focus on the maturity of the different national European markets and the level of Cloud adoption. Information on the progress of the European Cloud Strategy set by the European Commission will be presented, in addition to an update on EU funded Projects.
