Cloud computing and privacy:  At the intersection of innovation, legislation and standardization

We are delighted to be able invite you to join our roundtable discussion on “Cloud computing and privacy:  At the intersection of innovation, legislation and standardization” on 22 March 2012 at the Hotel Sofitel, Place Jourdan, Brussels.
Our roundtable discussion seeks to explore the impact of cloud computing on the European economy and examine the challenges of the existing legislative frameworks. Presenters from the academia, policy and industry spheres will talk about the complexities of data protection regulation from different perspectives, as well as the privacy needs of citizens in the cloud computing context, and the ways to satisfy those needs. We will in particular look at the possible role for technical standards in the evolving regulatory landscape. The panelists will discuss the role of standard setting organizations in developing international security and privacy standards as an option for providing global consistency in this challenging area.

The event will take place over the course of a morning and will be concluded with a networking lunch. Please find the full agenda below.
